Namchak Montana
Retreat Ranch

The best way to learn a new language is total immersion; the best way to make new habits of mind is also total immersion. Retreat allows that.

The Namchak Retreat Ranch in Montana is currently under construction. We will host short retreats each year (on each U.S. coast) until the ranch is ready. View the events calendar for the updated schedule.

Immersion, meditation, and practice in a peaceful retreat setting

The Namchak Retreat Ranch is located near the town of Hot Springs, Montana, on the Flathead Indian Reservation. Currently under construction, the ranch will host teachers and students coming together for longer retreats, learning, meditation, and practice.

Namchak Retreat Ranch
Situated on 8,900 acres, the retreat ranch will include several new buildings clustered together, to allow for most of the property to remain open space. As caretakers of this remarkable property, we at Namchak fully intend to keep it beautiful, vibrant, and diverse.

Commitment to neighbors and community

In the Montana tradition, we believe in helping the community as a good and mindful neighbor.

We meet on an ongoing basis with leaders of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, heads of county government and planning agencies, and community members in Hot Springs to share our plans for the retreat ranch and to learn about local initiatives and events.

Commitment to land and environment

Over the past several years, we’ve begun implementing comprehensive management strategies, including riparian restoration, noxious weed removal and native reseeding, fence removal, and replacement of barbed wire with wildlife-friendly fencing. We initiated these projects after completing a broad natural resources assessment, which helped us better understand the types of native vegetation and wildlife habitat currently on the property.
