About this event
Date and time
Join us for a special 2-hour workshop on Foundations in Sangha with Aaron Stern. Aaron is the founder of the Academy for the Love of Learning and a regular guest teacher at Namchak. Along with Lama Tsomo and Khen Rinpoche, Aaron is also one of the three main teachers in Namchak’s Ancient Wisdom Engaged program.
During this workshop, Aaron will be sharing key practices that will help you deepen and stay in contact with yourself and others as the foundation of Sangha, whatever may come your way. Included are experience-centered reflective practices, expression, and interactive dialogue.
Participants can expect time for solo and shared reflection. You will learn modern techniques for increasing awareness in real time and redirecting action, based on the Academy’s “Learning as a Practice for Waking Up” approach.
This course is a prerequisite for anyone interested in attending the Clearing the Lens retreat with Aaron Stern and Lama Tsomo in the new year.
If you have attended Aaron’s Waking Up In Community workshops in the past, they will also serve as the pre-requisite for the Clearing the Lens retreat.

About Namchak:
Namchak brings ancient meditation practices to modern life through online learning, in-person retreat, and a vibrant community guided by Tibetan masters and Western teachers. We support students on every step of the path, from those exploring mindfulness for the first time to more experienced students looking to deepen their practice. We offer a variety of learning programs, including in-person teaching, small group learning, online courses, and soon-to-be established residential retreats at the Namchak Retreat Ranch in western Montana.
About the Academy for the Love of Learning:
The Academy for the Love of Learning’s mission involves re-imagining and enlivening a shared understanding of learning as engaged awareness, or Awareness in Action – a life practice that is fundamental and essential to the well-being of people of all ages, and to our collective future. We are motivated by the simple powers of innate curiosity and the natural human urge to learn, transform and know. At the Academy, we design, facilitate and test learning methodologies and practices, and create transformational learning opportunities for a diverse range of people and contexts, ranging from public schools to senior care communities, and from for-profit companies to contemplative organizations and artist collectives.
